    Abstract: 語言測驗在教學上扮演一個很重要的角色,它不僅提供學生一個學習成果的評估,而且還能幫助老師作教學上的考核與改進。在各種考試中選擇題無疑地是最常用到的一種測驗。尤其在單字、文法及閱讀測驗中,它更是學生最喜愛的類型。它的簡易性及公平性是最大的優點。幾乎所有考試都包括了某些比例的選擇題。在語言基本能力與溝通技巧的測驗上,選擇題也占了很大的比例。本文主旨在討論選擇題的類型、特性和通則,並進一步探討在單字、文法及閱讀測驗的命題技巧。最後,本文提出了命題時該注意的要項及可能會遭遇到的問題。藉著有系統的歸類和分析,選擇題測驗將具備更深遠及更有效的功能。 r ease and fairness of marking are perhaps the greatest advantages. Almost all kinds of tests contain at least a certain percentage of multiple-choice items. There is also a wide range of possibilities for using multiple-choice questions to test linguistic and communicative competence. This paper starts by discussing different forms of multiple-choice questions traits and general principles, and the construction of multiple-choice questions in vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension tests. Next, this paper offers some suggestions to avoid vagueness and impropriety in writing multiple-choice items. Finally, the writer discusses some problems in testing. Through complete and careful categorization and analysis, multiple-choice items will have more extensive and effective uses in language testing.
