    Abstract: The chemical constituents in the leaves of Epimedium sagittatum were investigated with column chromatography. Eight flavonoids, including kaempferol (1), kaempferol 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (2), kaempferol 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 1→ 2)- α- L- rhamno-pyranoside (3), quercetin (4) ,quercetin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (5), quercetin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2) -α-L-rhamnopyranoside (6), icariin (7), and epimedin C (8);and five phenolic carboxylic acids, salidroside (9), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (10), protocatechuic acid (11), p-dihydrocoumaric acid (12), and trans-p-coumaric acid (13), isolated from the n-BuOH soluble fraction of the methanolic extracts.
